Each year W.C.U.S.A. appoint over 700 umpires to matches both within Worcestershire and other districts. These are at all levels and ages including:
Under 10 - 17 District and County matches
Schools
Universities/Colleges (including Warwick and Birmingham universities)
Ladies (including club, district and county)
Clubs
50+ and 60+ representative sides

All umpires are members of WCUSA, CRB checked and insured through ECB OCA. We have agreed rates dependent on age of cricketers, number of overs, level of cricket and distance. We will supply umpires at all qualification levels according to requirements. Whilst the large majority of appointments are agreed prior to the season start, we can also appoint umpires at very short notice.
We do not directly appoint umpires to the Worcestershire County League and umpires wishing to stand in this league should approach Mike Neil directly.

Umpires wanting to stand at matches appointed by the Association or clubs/sides looking for umpires for particular matches should contact the Appointments Officer. (We do not provide club umpires)

Disciplinary Procedures

A disciplinary sub committee shall be appointed to consider and take appropriate action following any complaints it may receive, either verbally or written, regarding the conduct of any member of the Association.
The sub committee will consist of six members, and shall meet as and when required to consider any such complaints. Any three of the appointed sub committee will meet to investigate any complaints.

If the sub committee consider that any conduct, either by word or deed, has, or is likely to, bring the reputation of the Association into disrepute, the following actions will be taken.

1. In the event of consistent verbal complaints or reports of conduct likely to bring the reputation of the Association into disrepute the member concerned will be informed of these complaints or reports for their personal consideration. No further action will be taken in these cases.
2. Upon receipt of any written complaint the member concerned will be asked to submit his/her version of events within 14 days. Failure to do so will not impede progress in the matter.
3. The Chairman will then appoint a panel of three members from the sub committee to consider the members version, whether written or oral, along with the original complaint and decide what action should be taken.
4. If the sub committee consider that the alleged conduct is of a minor nature a letter will be sent to the member advising them of their findings. Such letter will outline what is considered to be inappropriate conduct.
5. If a member receives two or more minor complaints in one season the sub committee shall have the authority to request the Appointments Officer to adjust the members appointments for the remainder of the season considering the nature of the games originally appointed.
6. The sub committee will not take any action on complaints regarding on field decisions made by the member except to inform the member concerned for their consideration. If such complaints continue the Appointments Officer may be requested to take these into account when appointing in the following season.
7. If the sub committee consider the alleged conduct is of a more major nature then it will have the authority to recommend a forfeiture of appointments and, in extreme cases only, expulsion from the Association.
8. If the sub committee consider the actions in item 7 then this will be brought before the full committee for ratification. If necessary a special committee meeting will be called to consider the matter.
9. Any member subject to these procedures will have the right of appeal. Any such appeal will be considered by the members of the sub committee not involved in the original hearing
10. The decision of the appeals committee will be final.
